Seoul last day- Adios!

Matthias Schlitte | 15. März 2010

The Thursday was the last full day of my trip to Asia. This time I went by bus in the terrible traffic of the Korean capital.

The target of my last day was a huge shopping destrict near the Namsan hill, similar to Shibuya in Tokyo. Many tourists were at this place and it was nice to see some European faces again. I bought some shirts and than we went to the N Seoul tower on top of the hill.

It´s the highest point of the city and it was sp impressive to see the beautiful skyline of a very special city.

After a 20hour trip now I am finally home and I want to say thank you to some people:

Thanks to Im Chin and Bo Ram who are organized the trip so well!

Thanks to Hong, Su Jan and Young for showing this great city to me!

Thanks to Joanne for publishing my diary at her worldfamous blog!

And finally to all people here for reading my words!!!!!!!

Thank you or 고맙습니다 !

Seoul Day 5- souvenirtastic

Matthias Schlitte | 10. März 2010

The evening it was raining very tough and in the night the rain turned in snow *woooop*-I love snow and watching it snowing J ! So in the morning the whole city was covered with fine sugar or may cocaine!

Till now I just saw it snowing in Germany and I thought the next country will be switzerland, Sweden or Czech….and now it´s Korea- how cool!

On Thursday I had my last day with my driver Young and we went to a traditional market for tourists. There I met my translator Suy-Chang and I bought so many souvenirs till my mastercard burned J!

After that Suy-Chang showed me the university of Seoul. It s a very nice university with a perfect mix between tradition and modern style. From the outside it looked Harry Potter and his owl are studying here,

but inside everything was high tech- so I was a little jealious.

Than we met Hong and went with his friends to bar, cause it was his birthday. So we chated and I drank my first rice wine.

At least I drove a little loaded with a taxi home to my hotel!

Seoul Day 4- Octopussy

Matthias Schlitte | 9. März 2010

First I thought: Mission complete!!!
Nothing about make up, acting and screenplaning was in my mind, so
my freetime began.
In 1988 Seoul had the olympic summer games and I am a huge fan of it,
so I decided to visit  the Olympic Park. I had 30 min. before my translator
Hong came to join me. First I bought my foreign coutry-wristband as usual
in a shop near the olympic baseball stadium.
I was so excited and tried to come in the stadium, but everything was closed.
Finally I found a open door to the stadium for officials and walked in.
After a while I  stood between trophies and equipment of the players on the floor.
I tried a door to the playground, but it was also locked, so I took another and
walked down a floor and entered a dark room.
I switched on the light and was shocked ( in a good way), I stand between clothings,
baseball bats and helmets in the cabin of the LG Titans (korean professional baseball team).
I was looking a little while around and went back outside. There I met Hong and we went
to the huge Olympic stadium, but it was also closed for visitors.
We found a open door for officials and went in. ong introduced me as an german top athlete,
who visited Seoul to see the stadium ( lol :-) ), at least I got my pics on the playground and
we drove to a big shopping destrict for electronics. It was so huge like the moon ( I guess ;-) )
and I bought my first korean PS3-game.
After this we went to the biggest shopping destrict for clothing in the world ( Mars size ;-) );
but the korean jackets were to tiny for german shoulders.
At least we visited ( now Sujan was my translator) a traditional food market and really strange stuff
was everywhere, like grey saussages and huge, red octopuses with long tentacles.
I decided for a korean pancake with seafood- very tasty :-)

Good Night!

Seoul day 3- Hyundai-city ?!

Matthias Schlitte |

After a short night with just a little, little sleep I met my driver Young and we went to the studio
for the filming. On my way I saw the Hyundai-building, Hyundai-petrolstations, the Hyundai-mall
and Hyundai-shop.
Crazy is everything in this country named Hyundai-
I am driving on the Hyundai-street over the Hyundai-river to the Hyundai-hill in my Kia…
No joke, of course in my Hyundai….CRAZY.

At the studio we did a small tryout and the light check.
In the large brake (I think 8 hours) I had an interview with the korean societymagazine
“Times” and I got really tired, so I was so happy when I went at 6 pm for make up.

3 tiny, agitated girls dressed me 1 hour up and I felt like a beauty queen.
Than the filming started:

First I performed with 2 very nice guys from the boyband U-KISS (photo), a band
like US-5. May I will become the new member ;-).
Also I gave some interviews and did some matches with korean celebraties.
As soon as I got the tape, I will post the vid here!!!!!

After the filming (1.5 h) we went to a very good, traditional restaurant and I hate
some really tasty dishes. A t least I had to give my autograph to the “star wall”
of this place… :-)

Traffic, Traffic and…. more Traffic

Matthias Schlitte | 7. März 2010

Hey guys,

I finished my second day and slowly I am starting to like this city :-)!

Today was the first day in the studio.

After a really, really long sleep I woke up in my super cool business hotel- room and went for huge (and not spicy) breakfast. By the way I have never seen so many different types of ice cream at a breakfast buffet- I think I have never seen just ice cream on a breakfast business, but asia is very special.

After the breakfast I went with my driver Young (a very nice Korean, who lived 8 years in Sidney) to the tv station and after 10 traffic jams, he first he showed me a big mall in the area. The mall was like a European with Diesel, Levis and Hilfiger in, so I bought nothing special and ate at Burger King for lunch. Young was very impressed that I ate 2 double cheeseburger, so he told everyone about and I felt like the fatest guy in town, cause everyone asked “How you can eat so much?”- Korean eat not like Europeans.

Than we had a big meeting with the planners of the show and I met some Korean armwrestlers, who were very nice, The meeting took nearly 4 hours and I got coke addicted.

After this I ate my first pizza Korean style ;-) with the crew and we were drinking and talking a little while. Than I was driven by my personal driver to the hotel… of course in the back of a black limousine- life is good!

Day 2 is finished-Thanks for reading!

Leipzig-Paris-Seoul

Matthias Schlitte |

Hello my friends,

after a verly long flight and plane-change at the most terrible airport in the world (Paris CDG) I finally arrived South Korea. I got a very warm welcome translator and the crew and we drow over the longest bridge I have ever seen to Seoul- the capitol of South Korea.

First we went for lunch and I got a knock out from the spicy korean food, so I my translator arranged me fast a glas of milk to reanimate my burning tounge.

After I checked in my hotel I checked out the kings palace and down town. I was driven in a huge black limousine- thats a treatment I like ;-) !!!!

At least I went for dinner with the crew and let my my 35 hours without sleep-day end up with a korean beer.

Good Night!

Matthias Schlitte | 3. März 2010

Hey guys,

I am writing here cause I have hot news for you:

I will fly on friday to South Korea cause I am invited in  a very popular TV show with some asian celebs.

The show is called “Star King” and hosted by one of the most popular korean entertainer Kang Ho Dong on SBS.  When I was in Tokyo in November 2009 I recognized how exciting, interesting and different Asia is.

So I want you all to take part on my impressions, just keep on watching here.
