Bebertal ( dei ). On Sunday at 0.30 a.m.Matthias Schlitte had made it: the Armwrestler from the VfL Wolfsburg got his fourth title!

On Saturday, the 22nd, German Armwrestling Championships took place in the city of Haltern. More than 130 sportsmen came to the city in the area of Recklinghausen, to find the new German champions. Matthias Schlitte won the title in the category under 70 kg in 2008, after his victories at the New-Years-Cup in Blackburn/ England at the end of January he decided to compete in the higher category up to 75 kg.
Schlitte competed with 69 kg in this class. In the first two rounds Matthias beat two very strong armwrestlers: the German champion Albert Weingart from Munich and the former vice-worldchampion Udo Weiß (Frankfurt/Oder ).

In the semifinal Matthias won in a hard war against the man from Hamburg – Alexander Pudov.
His opponent in the final was Udo Weiß again. Schlitte could beat Weiß once again in a long, hard fight!
The man from Bebertal won his 4th title!

“I am so happy. I can not believe that I won in the higher class”, said Matthias Schlitte about the victory.
